Credit Card Dispute Lawyer

You Don’t Owe That Credit Card Bill — And You Won’t Owe Us, Either

Dispute credit card charges that are not yours

Online shopping glitches, merchant mistakes, and identity theft can all drop the wrong charges on your statement — and your credit score pays the price if you let them sit. Our credit card dispute attorneys use the Fair Credit Billing Act (FCBA) to fix billing errors the right way: a written notice to your card issuer within the 60‑day legal window, followed by a documented investigation we monitor to completion. If the bank or merchant won’t fix it, we sue — and when you win, federal law lets the court make them pay your attorney’s fees and costs.

Most Common Credit Card Billing Errors

  • Unauthorized use/credit card fraud.
  • Goods/services not delivered or not accepted as agreed (wrong item, wrong quantity, late delivery).
  • Double charges or wrong amount/date on the statement.
  • Credits/returns not posted.
  • Computational/statement math errors.
  • The issuer failed to mail your statement to your last known address.

We charge you nothing out of pocket to dispute credit card charges

The FCBA (part of the Truth in Lending Act) requires card issuers to acknowledge your dispute within 30 days and resolve it within two complete billing cycles (never more than 90 days). If they don’t follow the rules, you can recover damages — and the statute lets the court award your costs and reasonable attorney’s fees when you prevail. That’s why we can handle qualifying matters with no out‑of‑pocket cost to you.

How We Handle Credit Card Disputes

Swift Action With a Written Dispute

As soon as you contact us, we audit your statement and send a formal billing‑error notice that meets FCBA/Reg Z requirements — within the 60‑day deadline from the first statement that showed the charge.

We Secure Written Confirmation From Your Bank

Your issuer must acknowledge in writing within 30 days and start a reasonable investigation. We track every date and document so your rights are protected from the start.

We Monitor the Investigation and Protect Your Rights

The issuer must finish within two full billing cycles (max 90 days). While it investigates, you may withhold the disputed amount (keep paying the undisputed balance), and the issuer can’t report you delinquent on that disputed amount. We keep the clock moving and the pressure on.

We Take Legal Action If the Bank Won’t Fix It

If the issuer or merchant refuses to correct the error, we file suit under the FCBA/TILA. Courts can award statutory damages plus your attorney’s fees and costs — and get the charge removed.

Their services had paid off with a lot of efforts to recover the amount of money that I was scammed by someone tricking me in sending money through Zelle knowing I struggle with a disability. They are amazing in issues like this! Definitely will encourage anyone to work with these lawyers when being scammed by tricking them to send money to Zelle.
This firm did an amazing job at fixing my account with my credit card company. Not only did they get the error removed off my credit report, they made them pay me for it. I'm keeping them on speed dial for future services because the credit card companies are so shady. This company is so patient, helpful, and kind. They answered all of my questions and were always available. I'm definitely using them again.

Gary did a great job of helping me get my money back from a credit card scam that Synchrony paypal would not resolve. After all the evidence that I provided to Synchrony bank that they ask for, they still would not refund me my money. After contacting Gary, he was able to not only help me get my money back from Synchrony, but also, he wrote me a check from resolving this matter. I highly recommend Gary to help anybody that want to resolve any legal matter. He is knowledgeable, very professional, and gets straight to the point. Thank you very much!

FAQ about Credit Card Disputes

Under the FCBA you dispute directly with your card issuer (the creditor). The merchant and its bank may be involved in the issuer’s investigation, but you are not required to contact the merchant first to preserve your FCBA rights. Send your written notice to the issuer’s billing inquiries address.

No. Card agreements are generally enforceable without an ink signature (applications and card use can establish acceptance). For unauthorized use, federal law caps a cardholder’s liability at $50, and many networks voluntarily apply zero‑liability policies. If a charge is unauthorized, dispute it under the FCBA and TILA.

Federal law limits your liability to no more than $50 — and if your card number (not the card) was used, your liability is typically $0. Card‑network “zero liability” policies often go further, but the legal cap is $50.

Send a written billing‑error notice within 60 days of the first statement showing the charge, to the issuer’s billing inquiries address (not the payment address). The issuer must acknowledge within 30 days and resolve within two full cycles/90 days.

No — you can withhold the disputed amount (keep paying everything else). The issuer cannot treat you as delinquent on the disputed portion while it investigates.

FCBA protections apply to credit cards and other open‑end credit. Debit disputes fall under the Electronic Fund Transfer Act (Regulation E) with different deadlines and rules. We’ll tell you which statute applies to your transaction.
